Some evenings begin before the first course is ever served.
On May 9th — a night that happens to fall on the eve of Mother’s Day — The Wandering Table takes over a historic Boise warehouse, its century-old bones and raw beauty the perfect backdrop for a night that moves from runway to table, from spectacle to savor. And we are not doing it alone.
The evening opens with an exclusive pre-dinner fashion show featuring the work of Robert Comstock — designer, adventurer, conservationist, and one of Idaho’s most legendary creative voices. Robert’s garments are born from decades of global expedition: sourced from Italy’s finest mills and tanneries, personally designed, and hand-signed and numbered by Robert himself. These are not simply clothes. They are wearable stories — carrying the spirit of the Arctic tundra, the Mongolian steppe, the Amazon basin, and the eastern Idaho wilderness where Robert grew up as a fifth-generation Idahoan.
He launched his label in 1976 out of his parents’ garage in Pocatello. By 1989, he had taken 5th Avenue by storm — winning the prestigious Coty Award for outerwear, landing on the floors of Bergdorf Goodman, and earning recognition alongside Ralph Lauren as one of the top designers in American menswear. His philosophy has always been simple: explore, discover, experience, share.

While you take in the show, Telaya Wine Co. will be on hand pouring their exceptional small-batch Idaho wines — because great fashion and great wine have always belonged in the same room. And for those who prefer something beyond the glass, our friends at Free Spirit Bev Co. will be right there with their vibrant, locally crafted offerings to keep the evening flowing from first look to final course.
When the show ends, guests move to the table. A seven-course dinner — crafted by Gina D’Orazio Stryker inside the raw, gorgeous bones of a space that holds a century of stories — where the food carries the same spirit as everything else in the room: honest craft, deep intention, and reverence for where things come from.
